Jet still a firm favourite

There has been no change to the betting at the two horses at the top of the boards for Saturday’s Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
Justin Snaith-trained Jet Dark remains favourite at 17-10 while Linebacker, trained by Vaughan Marshall, is at 9-2.
Marshall’s second runner, Silver Operator, has come in marginally from 9-1 to 8-1 while there has been a slight drift for both MK’s Pride and Al Muthana.
S’manga Khumalo has ridden Jet Dark in four of his last five starts, including wins in the Grade 1 Champions Cup at Greyville and the Grade 1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate, and he retains the ride for the Gold Challenge.
Grant van Niekerk is back aboard Linebacker.
Two runners from the Candice Bass-Robinson stable, Zarina and Marina, head up the betting for the Grade 2 Tibouchina takes over 1400m with Zarina at 28-10 and Marina at 9-2 along with Corne Spies’ charge Supreme Quest.
Next best is Sweet Future at 17-2 and she is trained by Mike and Adam Azzie.
Also run at this meeting will be the Grade 3 Cup Trial over 1800m as well as two races for juveniles, the Listed Devon Air Stakes for fillies and the Listed Gatecrasher Stakes, both over 1400m.
Paul Peter has a very high opinion of Naval Guard of it come as no surprise the four-year-old son of Elusive Fort has been priced up at 14-10 to win the World Sports Betting Jubilee Stakes on Sunday.
The Grade 3 race will be run over 1800m on the Turffontein Standside track. Although out at the weights based on merit ratings, Naval Guard comes into comes into the race with just 52kg on his back and Warren Kennedy in the irons.
Puerto Manzano from the Johan Janse van Vuuren yard is next best at 7-2 with Candice Dawson-trained filly Perfect Witness, who is the best handicapped runner, on offer at 9-2.
