Jannas to continue productive journey at Hamilton

September 2025

Rather like her name, the progress of Jannas Journey this season has been absolutely remarkable and she can win again at Hamilton on Monday.

When she joined Jim Goldie in May she was rated 52 and dipped down to 47 not long after. Now she is on a mark of 85, after winning seven of her 12 starts for the Lanarkshire yard and seven of her last eight.

Ayr has been where she has been in her element, but she has won here, too, and while she is a whopping 38lb higher in the Book Your Table Now At Carrigans Handicap than that victory in July, she was such a ready winner last time out there is every chance her story still has more chapters in it.

Eternal Sunshine is another who has played her part for Goldie this year and was most recently seen finishing third in the Ayr Bronze Cup. That only tells half the story, as she stumbled badly at the start and rider Lauren Young did well to stay in the saddle.

That the five-year-old could run so well after that made it a cracking effort and backed up a sequence of three wins, including the Portland at Doncaster's St Leger meeting. She can return to winning ways in the Barbara Ann Letham And Son Johnathan Memorial Handicap.

Rovinia is worth a look in the Get Raceday Ready Handicap at Brighton.

She has shown distinct signs of promise this term after an underwhelming juvenile campaign, placing on each of her three runs since joining Roger Teal's Lambourn yard, most recently when beaten just a head at Lingfield at the start of the month.

She has not helped herself by hanging across the track on a couple of occasions, but it does just look a matter of time before things go her way.

Rose Of Honour may be capable of doubling her tally in the Sky Sports Racing Virgin 519 Novice Stakes at Southwell.

The Night Of Thunder filly looked well above average when making a successful start to her career at Kempton a fortnight ago, recovering from a tardy start to win going away by just over two lengths.

The runner-up and hot favourite Rock Iguana was a previous winner, so the form does not look too shabby and Rose Of Honour can only improve.

Jaminska should strip fitter for a recent Newton Abbot outing as she returns to the Kingsteignton track for the Le Dorney Villas Cornwall Walking Holidays Novices' Hurdle. - Press Association
