Idita stands out in Fillies Guineas Plate

Trainer Gavin Smith continues to be in good form and he could have another cracking Friday at Fairview on the Polytrack.

Idita was a classy two-year-old who could train on to be a better three-year-old now that she has stepped up in distance.

The Visionaire filly won well on debut then ran some promising races behind Eastern Cape Champion Two-Year-Old filly Lunar Halo and that form has been well franked with Golden Sickle winning numerous times up in Gauteng.

Returning from a break and making her first run as a three-year-old, there was a lot to like about her performance.

Idita was caught late by stable companion Easy Living, but it was Idita who made nearly all the running that day and she was collared on the post.

She probably did too much too soon on that occasion and will strip fitter this time. If given a more patient ride this time she could prove a bit better than her rivals in Race 6, the Racehorse Owners Association Fillies Guineas Plate over 1400m.
