Hold My Hand set for a Summer Fling

January 2024

Jack Milner

The Grade 3 Summer Fling Stakes over 2000m is the main event at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday and Hold My Hand is expected to capitalise on the favourable conditions of the race by scoring an overdue second career win.

While many may point to the fact that Kotzen's charge has been costly to follow, one can be encouraged by her return from a 20-week absence to finish an eye-catching third in the 1800m Grade 3 Victress Stakes behind Saartjie last month.

She is at least 4kg better weighted than any of her rivals, also has Fourie up and stands out as the best bet on the card.

Once you look past her the race is wide open with many having the form to follow home Hold My Hand.

Perhaps the runner most likely to take up the role is another runner for the Kotzen yard, Flower Of Saigon.

The daughter of Flower Alley might be six years old but there is still plenty fight in the old girl yet as she showed recently after picking up two feature races at Fairview.

Raymond Danielson has done good well for the stable and he takes the ride once again.
