Hazy Dazy awaits at Turffontein

There are some interesting runners in action at Turffontein on Thursday when we see some on-time winners in action as well as some proven runners who have knocked off successive victories.

One runner who is in prolific form is Corne Spies-trained Hazy Dazy who, after finishing third on debut, went on to win three in a row. There is a belief in some quarters that winning four in a row is not easy and it does make sense. The runner has to deal with three consecutive weight increases, with the opposition getting stronger and the trainer facing a battle to keep that horse at a high level.

However, all that may not get in the way of Hazy Dazy, a progressive three-year-old who will be chasing a fourth consecutive victory in Race 5, a MR 86 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1800m on the Inside track.

Her latest was an authoritative success over 2000m on the Standside track which earned her a modest five-point hike but that is unlikely to halt her with Trent Mayhew’s 1.5kg claim in play.

She is learning fast and winning easier each time, so while she now faces tougher, more-seasoned rivals like Streisand, Future Date, and Kissing Machine.
