Have a drink on Smith

Cane Lime 'N Soda may have let his supporters down recently when only third last time out behind Ablueazure but that run is best ignored as he was caught out of his ground early and got bumped late when trying to catch the easy winner.

Cane Lime 'N Soda loves the Polytrack and although he is clearly at his very best over a bit further, Gavin Smith’s charge will prove a tough nut to crack at Fairview on Friday in Race 6, a MR 68 Handicap over 1900m.

Jockey Louis Mxothwa, who has not been riding regularly for Smith recently, will be in the irons.

Mxothwa has secured four rides for Smith and the pair could reunite for more than just a flash in the pan. Smith is not short of runners on the day and they need to be included in a number of races.

Verified ran a cracker when narrowly beaten in his latest start and the disappointing Trumps Express is a good back-up for Smith in Race 3.

Pinnacle was a good runner-up in a handicap race recently when still a juvenile so may have more to offer in Race 4.

Vegas Gold does not always show his best form but was well backed when winning easily last time out and could follow that up and take out Race 5.
