HAALAND SHATTERS RECORDS
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland on Sunday became the first player to complete four hat-tricks in his first 19 appearances in the English topflight. The Norwegian, whose goals saw off Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0, pipped Hughie Gallacher, who struck four hat-tricks in his first 20 top-division games for Newcastle United in 1925-26. The next best is Claude Lambie’s four in 23 for Burnley in 1890-91. Haaland’s 25 league goals have come in only 19 appearances – he is the fastest to reach that tally in top-flight history.
