The Alan Greeff stable stood tall on a tough day for the punters at a very windy Fairview Polytrack on Tuesday afternoon.
Greeff won four of the eight races, Gavin Smith saddled a double and there was a win each for trainers Kelly Mitchley and Cliffie Miller.
A strong headwind made things difficult for the horses and riders in the short Polytrack straight but jockey Kendall Minnie and Richard Fourie had a tremendous outing.
Minnie rode two winners for Greeff, winning with the longshots Lady Chatterley (race 2) and Cool Winter (race 6).
Fourie won with more fancied Greeff runners in Central City (race 5) and You Win Again (race 8).
You Win Again was only the second tote favourite to win on the day and this filly won very easily over 1300m.
The Smith double came up in races three and four. Head Gardener won with Muzi Yeni in the saddle and then Stallone Naidoo steered Atkinson Grimshaw to victory.
Passchendaele (Mitchley) ran a very good race to win the seventh race, the Racehorse Owners Association FM 86 Handicap over 1300m. The Querari filly always looked in control of the race with S’manga Khumalo doing the low flying.
Lt Alexander delivered the first upset of the day by winning the first race for the Miller stable. Marco van Rensburg was the jockey.
