The repetition almost sounds like a cracked gramophone record but once again the stand-out bets at Fairview on Monday come from the combination of trainer Alan Greeff and jockey Greg Cheyne.
Greeff has some very talented horses in his yard and two of them will line up in Races 3 and 5 on the Polytrack. The first is Full Score, who contests a Maiden Plate over 1300m, and the second is Bloom, who runs in a Conditions MR 75 Handicap for fillies and mares, also over 1300m.
Once again Greeff has entrusted the task of bringing the pair home to Eastern Cape champion jockey Cheyne.
Full Score has only raced once, finishing a 4.25-length third behind Winter Vacation. It is worth noting the three-year-old Duke Of Marmalade gelding was backed from 22-10 to go off at 9-10 so he must have been showing quite a lot at home.
Secondly, he got too far out of his ground early on but did run on well to finish third. He will improve with the experience and the additional 100m will suit.
A winner has come from that form line as last-placed Ndikhalele, who was beaten 8.75 lengths, caused a massive upset when winning next time out at odds of 75-1.
Bloom has run three times for two wins and an unlucky runners-up spot in her second start. She was most impressive when beating Perfect Pathway over this course and distance last time and as she should improve further, looks hard to beat.
She does look a likely banker but does have one serious opponent in Gavin Smith-trained Blue Duchess. She has raced against stronger and is unbeaten in two starts over the course and distance. She is one to include in bigger permutations.
