The reigning champion older horse in the Eastern Cape, Grazinginthegrass, can get back to winning ways on Tuesday at the Faiview Polytrack meeting.

Although drawn wide, he is the favourite to win the Pinnacles Stakes (race 5 at 15:15) over 1900m.

“I was very happy with his last run when he ran on nicely. He is the obvious horse to beat,” trainer Alan Greeff commented.

The six-year-old Philanthropist gelding has to carry a hefty 62kgs but is best weighted to win the race. Richard Fourie takes the ride.

Grazinginthgrass will be looking for his 14th career win in his 41st start.

Runawaysong is an interesting runner in this race when he will be making his local debut for the Gavin Smith stable.

Formerly in the care of Western Cape conditioner Dean Kannemeyer, the son of Legislate won six of his 19 starts.

Smith said Runaway Song put up decent work at home and had a look at the Poly.

The first of the eight races is at 12:50 and gets the Bipot underway. A big run is expected from the Greeff first timer Fire Alarm in a competitive Maiden Juvenile Plate.

The Place Accumulator starts in race two with a Maiden Plate and race three is the first leg of the Pick Six at 14:05.

Crystal Maiden could get Pick Six players off to a solid start. The Greeff-trained Flower Alley filly looks ready to win in an Open Maiden over 1900m.

Jackpot One starts in race four with an open looking fillies and mares handicap but Grazinginthegrass will be a popular choice for punters in race five, the first leg of Jackpot Two.

Another Greeff-runner who can be considered as a banker in your bets, is the filly Concerto in race seven.
