TAB customers can enjoy two days of top-drawer racing and betting action this Friday and Saturday that encompasses the postponed World Sports Betting East Cape Derby at Fairview, the second leg of the Winter Series at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, the Preakness Festival at Pimlico in the USA and the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in the UK, which will offer the opportunity to bet into Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) World Pools.
The two-day Preakness Festival starts Friday, when the $300,000 Black-Eyed Susan tops the bill, with the 148th running of the Preakness Stakes, the second leg of the famed USA Triple Crown, headlining Saturday’s card.
Only eight runners are set to go to post for the Preakness with the spotlight on Kentucky Derby hero Mage as he bids to become the 14th Triple Crown hero since Sir Barton first accomplished the feat in 1919.
Both meetings will be screened live from Race 4 on Racing 240 on DStv and TAB will operate a combination of commingled and local pools on both days.
TAB customers must note that the minimum bet amount and unit of betting will be different to what normally applies. The minimum bet will be only R6 instead of R19, while the unit cost per combination or line in Exacta and Pick 3 wagers will be R6. Thereafter the amount or cost per line can be increased in R1 increments.
TAB Win, Place, Exacta, Swinger and Quinella pools on Races 3 and 4 at Saturday’s Newbury meeting will be commingled into the huge World Pools. The two races are the London Gold Cup and the Lockinge Stakes, and for TAB customers with a strong fancy in either event, it’s a great opportunity to bet big with minimal impact on payouts.
