The six-year-old gelding Golden Peace will be aiming to make it four wins in a row when he tackles the Fairview Polytrack for the first time on Monday.
Golden Peace has been sensational since joining the Alan Greeff stable earlier this year. He won three in a row on the Fairview Turf track and has set his sights now on a winning debut on the poly surface.
The son of Gold Standard will take his place in the Racing240 Pinnacle Stakes over 1900m, the first leg of the first Jackpot, off at 14:25.
If he takes to the surface, and the stable thinks he should, he is the horse to beat in this small, but strong field of six runners.
The pace should be on early and jockey Richard Fourie is expected to settle Golden Peace at the back of the field and produce a strong finish to win this.
Bingwa, Firealley, Zatara Magic and Global Ally are all capable of winning if Golden Peace fluffs his lines.
The frontrunner Roll Of The Dice takes on stronger this time and is an unlikely winner unless he gets the benefit of a soft lead to help him hang on.
The Greeff stable is in great form and could start and finish the meeting on a winning note in competitive races.
The filly Olive Oyl has been knocking at the door for a while now and Fourie will be trying to get it right in the first race, the first leg of the Bipot, off at 12:40.
It is a very competitive Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1600m and although Olive Oyl is an obvious inclusion in the Bipot, it might pay to throw in one or two like Lady Bomber, Oh Mandy or Lana View.
Coastal Path was the runner-up in three of his last starts. He is drawn wide in the last, but is the horse to beat in the Classified Stakes over 1400m with Fourie up.
The weights bring the fillies and mares into play and Coastal Path won’t have it all his way from that draw.
Greeff is always the stable to follow, but the Kelly Mitchley yard also saddled a treble this past Friday and will have many supporters with some lively runners on Monday.
Mostly small fields on Monday, but very competitive racing, so as always, let’s give it a go!
