GLISTENING TO TAKE STARRING ROLE AT NEWBURY

Glistening can shine for John and Thady Gosden in the Jebel Ali Racecourse EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Newbury.

The Juddmonte-owned and bred filly is by Frankel and out of Soffia, a high-quality, Group-winning mare.

This filly started her career in a Yarmouth maiden earlier in the month and finished third, beaten a length and three-quarters despite obvious signs of greenness that point to more to come with experience.

Also at Newbury, Silent Flame can keep up a good run for trainer Rod Millman in the BetVictor Handicap over seven furlongs.

The mare was a winner at the Berkshire track over six furlongs last time out and having found her form again she might still have a bit in hand off her current mark.

God Of War can get his head in front in the Sky Bet Supporting Matt Hampson Foundation EBF Novice Stakes at Doncaster.

Tom Clover’s colt made his debut at Yarmouth, finishing fourth in a six-furlong maiden when beaten a length and a half.

The third-placed horse from that race has gone on to strike and the winner, Shadow Of Light, has some ambitious entries at Group level.

On the same card Sir Mark Prescott’s Miss Cynthia can win the Darley EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes under Paul Mulrennan.

The Sea The Moon four-year-old is yet to win a race in 14 starts, but has been holding her own in some quality contests recently, placing fourth in the Henry II Stakes and a Listed German event before most recently coming home third in the Listed Coral Marathon.

This is a step down in grade and although the filly is burdened with extra weight for her previous exploits, she still looks poised to record a deserved first success.
