Get the Yeni-Lafferty fever in KZN

Bettors are faced with a tricky card at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday, but trainer Paul Lafferty could provide the most promising banker when he saddles Got The Fever in Race 2, a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1600m.

The three-year-old daughter of Rafeef is coming back from a 94-day rest but her form is far better than any of her rivals and a was the case with Good Living last Sunday, Lafferty appears to have found the right race for this filly.

Her penultimate run in which she finished 0.65 lengths behind male rival Captain Oliver stands out in a field low on form and she could prove a lot stronger coming back fresh.

The stable is in good form and Lafferty has a good rapport with Muzi Yeni who is hungry for winners. This trainer-jockey collaboration has worked well together and they should pick up another win.

One Smart Cookie has the best form in Race 8, a Class 4 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1200m. Usually ultra-consistent, trainer Tienie Prinsloo changed things up, trying his charge over different distances and tracks for her last few starts and leaving her struggling to land a blow. While not beaten far, she should find the return to her favourite track and trip to her liking.

Both career wins have been achieved down the 1200m Scottsville straight and last time she had the worst of the draw and was only beaten 1.10 lengths by heavily supported Rani Of Jhansi.

It must be said that Rani of Jhansi has more to come so this form line could prove to be strong.

One Smart Cookie has drawn well in gate No 3 this time and she should get back into the winner’s enclosure, particularly if the going remains good.
