Friendly can fire again at Huntingdon

Ambiente Friendly can continue to progress under the National Hunt code in the Download The PricedUp App Handicap Hurdle at Huntingdon on Monday.

A son of Gleneagles who was once a Classic hope for owners the Gredley Family, the four-year-old finished second in the Derby and then third in the Irish Derby last year but struggled to discover that form even after being gelded.

He switched from James Fanshawe to James Owen after his three-year-old season and was first faced with an obstacle at Cheltenham in November, where he finished an encouraging fourth of 14 runners.

His next port of call was a novice hurdle over this course and distance earlier in the month, where he got off the mark with the benefit of a more restrained ride.

His target appears to be the County Hurdle and he can continue to climb the ranks at this discipline now seemingly rejuvenated by his new career path.

Khrisma can prove herself to be a nice prospect in the pricedup.bet Mares' Novices' Hurdle, where she lines up for Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville.

The JP McManus-owned mare was previously campaigned in France when trained by Emmanuel Clayeux for former connections, for whom she won a Grade Three and placed in a Grade One under the bumper code.

She has run three times since moving to British shores, placing third on her hurdling debut before a smart second-placed run at Punchestown at the very end of last season.

She returned to action this term in a Uttoxeter novice for mares, winning by an easy five lengths when barely coming off the bridle over 3200m as a long odds-on favourite.

The five-year-old clearly has plenty of ability and there is surely more to come this season, with this contest a likely stepping stone to bigger things in the spring.

On the Flat at Lingfield there is an interesting contest in the shape of the Win £250,000 With BetMGM's Golden Goals Novice Stakes, where The Stone Power can take the next step for Ralph Beckett and King Power Racing.

The two-year-old colt is by Kingman and out of Queen Power, a Group Two winner who was also placed several other times in pattern contests throughout her career.

The Stone Power is her first foal, and made his debut in a 1400m Southwell novice late last month.

There he was comprehensively beaten by Wathnan Racing's Organise, a 330,000-guinea purchase who crossed the line seven lengths ahead to join five siblings on the winning progeny list for their dam Maid To Dream.

It seems likely The Stone Power simply crossed paths with a very smart horse on his debut and he ought to have plenty to offer when making his second career start. - Press Association
