Fourie set for more success at Scottsville

It looks like another day to follow record-breaking rider Richard Fourie. He has some good rides at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday with his best coming up bright and early in Race 1, a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1200m.

My Boy Lollipop was unlucky loser on debut and after a bad experiment on the Polytrack has taken a few runs to find his rhythm. He bounced back to his very best with Fourie last time moving up strongly to challenge eye-catching newcomer Definitely Yes, who kept the advantage to win by a neck.

Also worth noting is Definitely Yes could be another exciting prospect for trainer Dean Kannemeyer.

The result may have been different had the Frank Robinson-trained youngster been drawn toward the inside, but he now has the necessary experience, and it could be time to get the lot on him as he has drawn in stall No 6.

Fourie could quickly double up as he looks to have a big chance aboard Izibulo in Race 2, a Maiden Juvenile Plate for fillies over 1600m. It is not always easy for juveniles going ground at this point in their careers but Izibulo tried 1800m the time before and was beaten only 0.80 lengths by Sweeter Than Honey in a race where she squared up against her elders.

Granted, it wasn’t a strong field, but she looked much more at home over ground than in her previous start over 1200m where she tried to match strides with sprinters and weakened out of it. She is progressive and has the advantage of starting stall No 2.
