Fairy Knight will make his final appearance as a three-year-old on Tuesday afternoon at the Fairview Polytrack.

The son of Global View was last seen in the TAB Listed East Cape Derby in May when he finished fourth over 2400m.

Fairy Knight had a busy, but very successful season. He won two Listed races, the Ibhayi Stakes and East Cape Guineas, and was runner-up in a third, the Racehorse Owners Association Stakes.

He is cutting back in trip to run in the seventh of Tuesday’s eight carded races, the 4Racing.TV Pinnacle Stakes over 1300m.

“The distance is maybe on the sharp side for him, but he is a classy individual,” trainer Alan Greeff commented.

Greeff has Fairy Knight, The Mauritian and Inherit The Rain in the race, who are all in with a winning chance.

Slings And Arrows (Gavin Smith), Prince Of Fire (Kelly Mitchley) and Evies First (Juan Nel) are also capable of winning this competitive event.

This race at 15:50 could be the highlight of the meeting which gets underway with the first race at 12:20.

Jockey Richard Fourie just needs one winner to become the new record holder for the most wins in an East Cape season.

He shares the record of 116 winners with Greg Cheyne. This mark was set five seasons ago, but with the Greeff-Fourie combination on fire, Fourie should be the sole record holder after today.

“It is nice to get the record. It has been a great season,” Fourie said at this past Friday’s meeting where he rode three winners.

He thanked the Greeff stable for giving him quality horses to ride and added that Cheyne gave him valuable advice about how to ride some of the horses.

Fourie has a winning chance in each and every race today and it could be another successful Fairview outing for him.
