The leading combination of trainer Alan Greeff and jockey Richard Fourie is set for another good day at Fairview on Friday
It is another Polytrack meeting so draws and luck in running should play their part, but the pair hold a number of leading chances
The best of them could be Greenlight Dancer in Race 5, a MR 64 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1400m.
The Gimmethegreenlight filly did not show much in her first four starts so it was a bit of a surprise when she found betting support in her second start in the care of Greeff and her second under run under Fourie.
The three-year-old filly did not settle in the running and was caught out of her ground but flew up late to win on the post. That was over 1300m and it suggested she may be seen at her very best over even further than 1400m.
Hopefully she will be smarter in the early stages as she is drawn badly but look again for a strong late run from her
There may be 12 runners carded for Race 7, a MR 78 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1400m, but in all honesty it could boil down to being a match race for the Greef pair of Catch Your Breath and You Win Again.
Fourie was aboard You Win Again in that mare's three recent wins and her form has held up well, especially her last win when beating Red Sash who has won a couple of races since then.
This time around, though, Fourie will be on the impressive last time winner Catch Your Breath.
Blinkers seems to have made a difference for the Canford Cliffs filly as she drew away for a 3.50-length victory last time out.
That was the second time she had worn blinkers and raced a lot handier than usual.
It is also worth noting Fourie has ridden Catch Your Breath four times and has won three of them.
The meeting starts with an interesting race as Fourie rides Springsteen, a recruit from Gauteng who struggled on debut.
Stable companion Pink Moon with Kendall Minnie has the better form and could be a Christmas present for the rider who works hard but has only managed two wins so far this season.
