En-Nesyri holds Europa League key

Morocco striker Youssef En-Nesyri moved to Spain in 2015 and has been a LaLiga regular since for Malaga, Leganes and Sevilla.

He will be leading the line for Sevilla tomorrow night in the Europa League final against Roma, looking to add more success to a season where he was a major part of Morocco’s fairytale run to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar at the end of last year.

Roma will know all about the lanky international striker as he scored when the two sides met previously in a single-leg Europa League round of 16 tie in the German city of Duisburg en route to their 2019/20 trophy success.

It was played as a single match, and in neutral territory, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

En-Nesyri went on to win the trophy with the club in that campaign.

This season, the 25-year-old scored a brace in a 3–0 victory against Manchester United in the quarter-finals and then scored Sevilla's first leg goal in a 1–1 draw away at Juventus in the semi-finals.

In a fortnight’s time, En-Nesyri will likely be lining up against Bafana Bafana in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
