Durban July champ among Summer Cup entries

There were 48 horses nominated to run in R2-million Gauteng Summer Cup when first entries closed on Wednesday.

The Grade 1 race over 2000m is scheduled to be run on the Turffontein Standside track on Saturday 26 November

Sean Tarry has the most numerous entries with 14, among them Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara champion Rain In Holland who has not been seen since having needed corrective surgery in May.

Mike de Kock has entered six runners which include Hollywoodbets Durban July first and third, Sparkling Water and Safe Passage respectively.

Also among the De Kock entries is SA Derby winner Aragosta as well as MK’s Pride who has recently moved to that yard.

Second entries close at 11am on Tuesday 1 November and final entries at 9am on Friday 18 November after which the weights will be announced.

Declarations must be in by 11am on Monday 21 November
