Dontstopmenow is a half-brother to Chewbaca, who won over 2000m, then 2200m, and finally over 2400m. It could explain why, after showing up well over shorter, Dontstopmenow has stayed on strongly over 1800m without surging to head affairs in his last two.

Lining up at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday in Race 3, a Maiden Plate over 2000m, it won’t surprise to see him jump as favourite like he did in his last two, but this time round he could reward followers.

He looks a natural for the Polytrack and from a plum barrier draw could dictate matters.

If Pirate Prince comes in for support in Race 4, he could be ready after a 135-day layoff. He made his rivals look ordinary in both last two starts on the poly but his merit rating has only gone up a cumulative nine points. He could have much more to come but again the betting could be a good indicator as to whether he is ready to rumble after a rest.

However, it might be the right move to include Eventidor and Blazing Light as back up in the exotics.
