De Bruyne no fan of Nations League

Manchester City engine room Kevin De Bruyne is no fan of Nations League and is not looking forward to playing for Belgium, who have to play four games in the competition from 3 June to 14 June. These fixtures come after a long and gruelling season for the 30-year-old, who was named English Premier League player of the year after helping City retain the title. De Bruyne overcame injuries and COVID-19 during the campaign and deserves a rest, but will have to wait. The midfielder slammed the competition: “For me, the Nations League is not important. We have to play these games, but it feels like a campaign of friendly games. Just glorified friendlies after a long and tough season. I’m not looking forward to it. In 12 months we have three weeks of holiday. The people from the outside do not understand how a player feels after a season. But they don’t have to because it won’t change anything. It doesn’t even matter to mention it, nothing will change anyway.”
