Darryl and Dymondia to come up trumps

We are back on the turf at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday and bettors are faced with a competitive eight-race card.

However, there is a chance to build up a bit of an early kitty in Race 2, a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1900m where trainer Darryl Moore saddles Dymondia.

The three-year-old daughter of Greys Inn has been runner up in her last two starts, both on the Polytrack, and the jump in distance from 1700m last time should be ideal.

There are a few question marks around Dymondia’s form as her first three runs, all of them on the turf, were to say the least, most uninspiring but the two runner-up spots on the Polytrack will hopefully have boosted her confidence.

In addition, Dymondia was fitted with blinkers in her second and third starts with which she did not seem to be comfortable, and they may have accounted for the poor performances. Moore took them off for the two runs on the Polytrack and that may have aided her cause.    

She finished strongly in both of those starts but she did tend to hang up the straight. Nevertheless, Moore has engaged leading jockey Richard Fourie for the ride, and he will hopefully sort out that issue.
