title: Crunch time in UCL and ACL
description: "UEFA Champions League and African Champions League clashes dominate the stage this week and it’s crunch time in both with AmaZulu needing to take all three points against Rajah Casablanca in Durban on Friday night\n \nBy Mark Gleeson\nThe last of the quarter-final places in the UEFA Champions League will be decided tonight and tomorrow, and by the end of the weekend we will also have a much clearer picture of who is likely to progress in the African Champions League.\nThese competitions remain the pinnacle for clubs on both continents and there are plenty of fireworks expected this week with the matches adding plenty of fire to TAB soccer pools.\nThree of the four ties in the UEFA Champions League are delicately poised after first-leg draws, although home advantage means Ajax Amsterdam, Juventus and Manchester United all start favourites to progress.\nChelsea are away at Lille in France, but look a banker bet to win in TAB’s Soccer 10 pools after a 2-0 first-leg triumph at Stamford Bridge. Even with all the uncertainty over their future following the sanctioning of owner Roman Abramovich, Chelsea should prove too strong for the Ligue 1 champions, who have had a mixed bag of results this season.\nAjax were twice ahead away against Benfica in Lisbon before being held to a 2-2 draw, but will likely have too much firepower for their Portuguese opponents at home in Amsterdam tonight.\nThis will probably also be the case for Juventus when they host Villarreal tomorrow. “The Old Lady” have won four games in a row since their 1-1 draw away at Villarreal in Spain in the first leg of their last-16 tie.\nManchester United’s win on Saturday at home to Tottenham was just the tonic they needed for their game tonight at Old Trafford against Atletico Madrid. In the first leg in Madrid, the Red Devils got a late equaliser to force a 1-1 draw.\nAlready through to the last eight are Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid. The quarter-final, semi-final and final draws take place on Friday and there is no seeding or separation by country so any team can be drawn against any other team. The 2021-22 Champions League final takes place at the Stade de France in Paris on Saturday 28 May.\nThe African Champions League sees the penultimate round of matches in the group phase this Friday and Saturday with Mamelodi Sundowns needing only an away draw at Al Hilal of Sudan to win Group A.\nAmaZulu, however, must win at home on Friday night to have any realistic chance of a top-two finish in Group B. They take on group leaders Raja Casablanca at the Moses Mabhida Stadium."
