Finding a best bet on Wednesday’s card at Hollywoodbets Greyville is not an easy task but hopefully Lady Yusra can put it all together in Race 2.
Dean Kannemeyer’s charge lines up in a Maiden Plate over 1400m on the Polytrack and after finishing a close second in her last two starts, she has the ability to find her way to the No 1 box.
She is in good form and enjoys the Polytrack, but the main concern is she has to jump from No 12 draw. However, this seems less of an obstacle on the Polytrack than on the turf because the jockeys appear content to race off the inside rail and often come wide into the straight.
This daughter of Silvano has been ultra-consistent, having raced five times for those two seconds and two fourths. She does come back in distance as her last run was over 1600m but in her penultimate outing, she just went down 0.90 lengths to Unconditional Love over this course and distance.
Keagan de Melo takes the ride.
The main threat has to be Lucky Miss with Muzi Yeni up. The Duncan Howells-trained filly has decent form and has even contested a Grade 2 race as a maiden.
After finishing unplaced on debut, Lucky Miss contested The Debutante over 1200m on the Greyville turf track. While she never got into the race, the daughter of What A Winter produced a strong burst to run sixth, beaten 5.65 lengths by Maryah.
She has had one run since, over 1400m at Scottsville, where she finished a 1.40-length second behind October Song. She did not have the easiest of passages so there is room for improvement.
She does have the advantage of jumping from No 3 draw, but this will be her first race on the Polytrack.
