Cool Fourie to conduct affairs at Fairview

Jockey Richard Fourie did not have the best day last week Friday at Fairview, but that could all change on Friday 15 December when he is back at the same venue.

The log-leading jockey has some good rides and two of them in particular should go close to winning.

He can get punters off to a cracking start when he rides Concerto in Race 1, a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1200m on the Polytrack.

This three-year-old Canford Cliffs filly has raced just three times, all on the Polytrack. She was well beaten in her first two although finishing fourth in her second start, although 8.25 lengths behind winner Donnie Tee.

Last time, however, she stayed on well enough over 1000m to finish a 1.50-length second behind Pompei Warning.

She looks to be coming to hand and is now ready to win.

Three-time winner Cool Winter has taken his time to show his best at this centre but his last two runs have reminded us that he could still be a force.

He followed up a nice win on the Fairview Polytrack over 1200m with a good third last time out.

His draw of No 9 will not make it easy for Fourie but Cool Winter is capable of scoring in the lucky last, a MR 80 Handicap over 1200m.
