Clash of the Fairview Fillies

The clash of two talented fillies in the Tab Racing App Graduation Plate (FM) could be the highlight at Tuesday’s Fairview Polytrack meeting.

Idita (Gavin Smith) and Rimaah (Alan Greeff) have both placed in Listed events last season and should fight it out for the win in race six over 1400m.

This will be the first time this season that Idita will be in action after a very good season as a two-year-old filly. She was second in the Listed Lady’s Slipper Stakes and third in the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery.  Idita is drawn in pole position and S’manga Khumalo will be in the saddle.

Fitness will be on Rimaah’s side as she has already had four races this season. She ran second in last season’s Listed Breeders Guineas but has been running a little bit under par since then.

There was an eye-catching performance three runs back on the Poly over 1400m when Rimaah was just beaten by Rose Of Bayeux. Another run like that could seal the deal. Richard Fourie is the jockey and will jump from stall gate six.

Fourie will also ride the three-year-old filly Gideon’s Daughter (Greeff) which is the banker bet of the day for Henk Se Wenk.

After two promising runs over 1200m, the step up in trip to 1600m should suit and Gideon’s Daughter should be too strong for the opposition in the third race, the first leg of the Pick Six.

The meeting starts at 12:40 and the first race gets the Bipot underway. Raptor Island and Donny Tee should fight it out for the win (don’t forget the Exacta bet). It is Place Accumulator time with the second race at 13:15. Here the filly Dawn Of Gold is the one to beat.

Gideon’s Daughter is our banker in the first leg of the Pick Six, race three at 13:50. The first Jackpot gets underway at 14:25 with race four, which is a tricky affair over 1900m. Race five is the first leg of the second Jackpot and is another competitive race where punters should go wide in.

In the Graduation Plate, race six, Rimaah and Idita must be included but keep Chroniclesofnania in mind if you want to go wider.

The meeting ends with two open looking races where punters can load up after going light earlier on.
