Chantilly Lace can find fame and fortune at Sandown

Chantilly Lace can get off the mark for the season when she drops to Listed level for the Fortune Stakes at Sandown on Wednesday.

Winner of her only juvenile start, trainer Ralph Beckett felt the Lope De Vega filly deserved a crack in Classic company on her seasonal bow and while she was sent off a 25-1 shot for the 1000 Guineas, she certainly outran her odds in finishing fifth, beaten just 2.5-lengths.

She was then kept to Group One level for the Coronation Stakes and again acquitted herself well in finishing a 3.5-length fifth but she could not make the most of a Group Three outing back at Ascot in July.

Entirely different tactics were employed that day as she made the running and she was hardly beaten far - just half a length - so it may suit her to return to a more waiting ride, with soft ground in Esher expected to suit given her maiden win came on autumn heavy.

Chantilly Lace gets a handy three-year-old filly allowance, which certainly hands her the advantage on the ratings and she should be refreshed from a break.

Accredit can atone for defeat as favourite on his racecourse bow by landing the Sporting Times Sri Lanka British EBF Maiden Stakes.

He started his career over 1400m at this track and looked very much in need of the experience when beaten 1.5-lengths, with this move up to 1600m sure to suit this Dubawi colt, who is a relation of Enable.

There is also Listed action at Yarmouth, with Anna Swan worth another try in the EBF Stallions John Musker Fillies' Stakes.

Winner of two of her three starts for Sir Michael Stoute last year, she only came unstuck when upped to Group One company but she has yet to hit the same kind of heights for new trainer William Haggas this term.

Well beaten on her return in the Pretty Polly at Newmarket, her subsequent narrow second behind Waardah in a Goodwood Listed heat looks fair form given that one has since gone on to Group Two glory.

Admittedly Anna Swan ran well below her best when last seen in Newcastle's Hoppings Stakes, but back on her favoured soft ground she might regain that winning feeling.

Green Triangle is interesting as he makes his debut for Simon and Ed Crisford in the Goffs Two Million Series Handicap.

One of his most notable career efforts came last summer when he looked likely to dish out a beating to subsequent dual Derby winner Lambourn only to duck across the track and smash through the rails.

He has been set some stiff tasks subsequently and has proved game for the task, most recently giving his previous connections a big payday when winning the Gowran Classic back in June.

Sold for 85,000 guineas the following month, Green Triangle has been given time to settle into his new yard and while his mark of 95 is high enough, he has looked the type to rank highly in the big handicap contests.

Fast Generation can star at Beverley in the Topmark Solutions Facilities Management EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes.

Well beaten when third on her bow, this well-related individual should improve for the outing. - Press Association
