Change of track

November 2022

Please note a decision has been made to move the Vaal Work Riders meeting scheduled for the 8/11/22
and the Vaal meeting scheduled for the 24/11/22 to the Vaal Classic Track.

All 1400m races will now be run over 1450m and there will be no other distance changes.

This means our next meeting on the Vaal Main Track will take place on the 1/12/22 which is 10 days prior to the WSB Grand Heritage meeting on the 10/12/22.

These will be the only two remaining meetings on the Vaal Main Track until next year. Gallops will be arranged whereby jockeys can give their feedback as to the well-being of the track.

We are pleased to announce that the 4Racing board has approved a major project on the Vaal MainTrack which will take place straight after the Heritage.

We will be lifting, levelling and replanting the grass from the 1000m mark right through to the finish as well as scarifying the entire track.
This has been long overdue and we are confident this will make all the difference in assisting the tracks recovery going forward.

We have also made a decision to change the scarifying schedule for the tracks next year.

We will be scarifying the Standside Track in it’s usual August slot but the remaining three tracks will all be used and available at our most trying times of the year.
The additional track through this period will hopefully lessen the damage of the tracks through the winter and spring months.

These tracks will then be scarified through the summer months when growth is at its peak.

Unfortunately, what has been done in the past has clearly not worked and we always seem to find ourselves under pressure with one of the tracks at some point of the year.

We believe this is the logical step to avoid a similar situation next year.

Further comms regarding change of venues will follow in the following days.
