Chance for Three Rocks

November 2024

Henk Steenkamp

The four-year-old filly Three Rocks gets her chance on Friday to show why she is the current East Cape Champion Sprinter.

She will start as the favourite in the Glendore Sprint (Non-Black Type) over 1000m on the Fairview Polytrack.

Three Rocks has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this track and trip for the Alan Greeff stable.

The daughter of Heavenly Blue does have a big mass of 61.5kgs to carry but has the class to get home under Richard Fourie, for what will be her eighth-career victory.

Three Rocks will be a popular banker in many bets but if she fluffs her lines there are many challengers who can win this.

Anuschka’s World is in great form and that galloping mass of 52kgs catches the eye.

Paris Lass has beaten Three Rocks before and if at her best returning from a four-month break, she will be a huge contender.

The winner of last year’s race, Slim Jannie, Evies First, Ledell’s Echo and Ellorix are capable of winning but they all have to beat Three Rocks.

Friday’s feature race is race seven of eight and ten sprinters will face the starter at 16:00.

The East Cape Horse of the (last) Season, Joy And Peace, can get Pick Six players off to a winning start.

The four-year-old Master Of My Fate filly should be too strong for the rest in the 4Racing.TV Conditions Plate for fillies and mares over 1600m.

Joy And Peace (Greeff) is drawn widest of all and at best over further, but is the class horse and weighted to win the race. Red Sash is the danger.

Another four-year-old filly which must be included in all bets is Montelena (Gavin Smith) who is weighted to win the Graduation Plate, race six, over 1100m.

She has been ultra-consistent recently and could get it right this time. Donny Lee and Articuno should be the main challengers.

The first race is off at 12:30.
