Jack Milner: Brett Crawford could have another Run Fox Run on his hands with Kitty Cat Chat, who was also bred in Australia.
The daughter of Press Statement has only raced twice and has won both races – to use a corny expression – on her coconut.
Kitty Cat Chat won her maiden over 1250m at Durbanville by 2.25 lengths and then followed up in a FM 89 Handicap over 1000m at Kenilworth, winning that by 3.25 lengths with jockey Anton Marcus looking around for the nowhere-to-be-seen opposition.
She has clearly impressed the handicappers as she races off a merit rating of 94.
She will be running in Race 6, a FM 88 Handicap over 1200m at Kenilworth on Wednesday and as such will carry top weight of 60kg along with On Captain’s Side. This race will be a test for her, but she looks to be of Grade-race potential and should be too good for her rivals.
