Cape Eagle stands out at Greyville

One of the unluckier horses in his last start, Cape Eagle should make amends for trainer Andre Nel at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday.

Cape Eagle is weighted to win Race 6 Pinnacle Stakes over 2200m. The Vercingetorix gelding Cape Eagle showed his well-being with a cracking second to top class stayer Madison Valley in a race he could have won it had he not been hampered at a crucial stage.

This course and distance looks ideal for Cape Eagle as he won the Grade 3 Splashout 2200, which is considered the Durban July consolation race.

Off a merit rating of 110 Cape Eagle is four points clear of Grandi Orrechie who is the next best weighted runner.

Now the latter is capable of a powerful finish but not only is she is racing after a rest, she is more of a proven Polytrack specialist and importantly not sure to be fully effective over 2200m distance.

As a result, Cape Eagle rates a banker in all bets.
