Candice set for a good day

Racing returns to Hollywoodbets Durbanville today, the first time since 29 June, and that could work out well for trainer Candice Bass-Robinson who has some decent runners on the day.

Bass-Robinson is double-handed in Race 1 over 1250m and after consecutive seconds at her first two starts, Gimme's Lassie is the stable elect and should reward her followers under Keagan de Melo.

De Melo partnered this daughter of Gimmethegreenlight on debut over 1000m and saw Aldo Domeyer deputise in his absence aboard the Khaya Stables-owned filly at her last start five weeks ago. As the retained rider for Lady Laidlaw's operation, De Melo is back in the irons this time around and ought to get it right.

The jockey-trainer combination should strike again with On The Road Again in Race 9, a MR 70 Handicap over 1250m.
