Boy looks the one at Leicester

December 2025

Heeztheboy seems thoroughly revived for a change in stable and he can keep up his fine run of form in the Aspall Cyder Leicestershire Silver Fox Handicap Chase at Leicester on Sunday.

Previously trained by Pauline Robson, for whom he won one of 12 starts, Heeztheboy has been building up some momentum for new handler Gary Hanmer this term, prevailing in three of four outings.

Victorious off a mark of 81 at Hexham in October, the eight-year-old now sits on a perch of 107 having added a win at Wetherby and a further Hexham success earlier this month, which represented a career best.

He has shown the ability to handle not just deep ground but also a quicker surface, which should be on offer at Leicester.

Orderoftheday is the choice in the Coors, Refreshing, Crisp Lager Novices' Hurdle for trainer Olly Murphy.

A £125,000 purchase in May 2024 after a point-to-point win, Orderoftheday hit the bar in two bumper starts last term but presented with a set of hurdles to jump on his seasonal bow this year, the five-year-old justified his status as an odds-on favourite with a cosy strike.

He will surely be seen to best effect over fences in due course, but he is smart enough to shrug off his winner's penalty here and make it two from two.

Classical Sting showed plenty of ability when making a winning debut over fences at Kelso, despite prevailing by just a neck at the line.

Four hurdles runs yielded little joy but sent over the bigger obstacles, Classical Sting turned in a fair round of jumping and then showed plenty of heart for a battle in holding off the favourite.

A 6lb rise makes life tougher in the Sky Bet Acca Freeze Novices' Handicap Chase at Catterick, but he looks like being far more capable over fences.

Centurion's Sister should appreciate a longer trip in the Sky Bet For The Fans Maiden Hurdle.

She has placed three times so far this term over 3200m but might find an extra 600m plays in her favour here.

In contrast to the average offerings in Britain, Ireland has two tracks with Grade One action and it is Fastorslow who can star in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown.

He finished a distant third in the John Durkan on what was his first run in a year but that run should have knocked off any rust and he has the advantage of that run over the returning Galopin Des Champs.

Teahupoo can confirm Hatton's Grace form with Ballyburn in the Christmas Hurdle while Final Demand can live up to his reputation with victory in the Guinness 00 Faugheen Novice Chase, which is the Grade One highlight at Limerick. - Press Association
