An African Horse Sickness outbreak in a 30km radius from the Randjesfontein training centre has resulted in horses stabled there being unable to travel to Cape Town to run in races on Cape Town Met day.
While Sean Tarry has had some horses in the Western Cape for some time, those who had not yet left will now be stuck at home.
Among those restricted to travel is World Sport Betting Cape Town Met second favourite Bless My Stars. Tarry’s other runners affected are Proceed (Race 1), Winter Greeting (Race 5) and Storm Brasco (Race 8).
The ban also means that Mike and Adam Azzie-trained Coldhardstare (Race 5) also had to be withdrawn.
