Be with Zackey and Yeni at Scottsville

Craig Zackey has another decent card of rides at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday but another visiting jockey, Muzi Yeni, could have landed the best bet on the day.

This race meeting was originally scheduled for last Sunday but inclement weather forced a change to the two meetings programmed in KwaZulu-Natal over the weekend.

Yeni has been in top form this weekend and he notched up two winners at Turffontein on Saturday and had another brace at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday.

One of them, Underworld, was for trainer Justin Snaith and they team up again in Race 3, a B Stakes over 1000m, with Querari gelding Un Bel Di.

This three-year-old is a two-time winner from 10 starts in the Western Cape and has met a lot stronger than he will face in this event.

In fact, last time he was beaten just 0.30 lengths by Gem King, and Piet Steyn’s runner finished second in the Grade 3 Champagne Stakes over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Monday in a potent field.

Un Bel Di is by Trippi mare One Fine Day and is a half-brother to four-time winner Yamadori, trained by Johan Janse van Vuuren.

Yeni also has a promising ride for Mike and Mathew de Kock in Race 1 where will be aboard Buffalo Bill Cody colt Yippee Kiyay, a R700,000 purchase at the 2024 National Yearling Sale.

The raced horses do not excite and it looks likely the unraced runners will dominate.

Zackey is engaged to ride R1-million Gimmethegreenlight youngster Star In Motion for the in-form Dean Kannemeyer while in Race 2, he will be riding well-related One World filly Educator - a R600,000 purchase as a yearling.

They also team up in Race 8 with a three-year-old One World filly who will remind old-time rockers of Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones – Getoffofmycloud.
