Mvelelo to strike again at Greyville

The late scratching of Bank Street has opened the door for Mvelelo to notch up another win when he lines up in Race 7 on the Polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday, a Class 4 Handicap over 1200m.

Mvelelo has run well since fitted with blinkers and has a win and a place in his last three starts since joining trainer Wengesai Masawi. He is well drawn in gate No 2 and has Sean Veale in the irons. On a tricky card he could prove to be a banker in all bets.

Kanaal Skater has moved from Cape Town where he showed promise and he won his maiden over 1200m in good style. But it was only when stepped up to 1600m in his last start that he travelled a lot more comfortably and finished fluently to beat hard-knocking older rivals without coming under much pressure.

He may have lost his Polytrack debut but he was not disgraced when beaten 3.70 lengths by Super Fast – and that was over 1200m.

Dean Kannemeyer's charge lines up in Race 2, a Class 4 Handicap over 1600m, jumps from Gate No 1 with Craig Zackey up.
