Some good feature races are on display at Fairview on Friday, and the main attraction is star three-year-old filly, Anotherdanceforme.
The Master Of My Fate filly has won eight of her nine career starts. Her only defeat was when raiding Kenilworth in the Western Cape in November, when she finished ninth, five lengths behind Princess Of Gaul.
The Alan Greeff-trained and Richard Fourie-ridden filly looks very hard to oppose in Race 4, the East Cape Oaks (Non-Black Type) over 2000m. Anotherdanceforme has been so formidable of late that she has chased off the regular Western Cape trainers from taking her on.
The field has just six runners carded, and Greeff does have three other runners in the race. Interestingly, after a very impressive win on local debut, filly Homing Pigeon has joined his yard. This Hawwaam filly took nine starts to win her first race, but she did impress when scoring at a short price by a wide margin. If there is to be a danger, she is it.
Of the other runners, Augusta Rosso and East Cape Girl could also take home some money. Augusta Rosso has chased home stable companion Anotherdanceforme twice recently and was not disgraced in either run.
They all step up to 2000m for the first time, and there is no obvious front-runner, so it could be a tactical affair. East Cape Girl has won a couple of races on the Polytrack this season and prefers that surface, but she could also enjoy the extra distance of this race.
