Further to the earlier release of Wednesday’s abandonment, Cape Racing can confirm that the meeting scheduled for this Saturday 20 July 2024 has also be abandoned.
Unfortunately, a further downpour is forecast overnight, expected to last until Friday.
The weather is expected to improve dramatically from the weekend and into the latter parts of this month.
Initiating an early abandonment allows us to accurately re-schedule the busy period of racing to follow, allowing trainers and stakeholders to plan efficiently.
A race meeting will be added at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Thursday 25 July.
A further meeting will be added at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Tuesday 20 July.
The racing programme for this last part of the season will therefore be as follows:
Mon, July 22: Hollywoodbets Kenilworth
Thu, July 25: Hollywoodbets Durbanville
Sat, July 27: Hollywoodbets Kenilworth
Tue July 30: Hollywoodbets Kenilworth.
Please note that nominations will be re-opened for the four final meetings of the season.
