All The Time and Rachel for another win

It is not easy to win four races in a row but that is exactly what All The Time will attempt to achieve in Race 5 at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday.

Trained by Yogas Govender, this five-year-old gelding is a six-time winner. He finished unplaced on debut, followed that up with two seconds and then broke the ice with two successive wins, both over 1200m.

He lost his way a little but then Govender united him with Rachel Venniker for the first time. She got him back into the winners' enclosure the first time she rode him, which was over 1400m on the turf at Hollywoodbets Greyville on December 2022.

It was almost a year before she was given her next ride on All The Time and in that period he did not register another victory. Finally, in November last year, Govender engaged her once again and that culminated in a 1.05-length second behind Senor Garcia in a 1400m race on the Greyville Polytrack.

Wisely, Govender retained Venniker for his next three starts and, if you will excuse the pun, he has won "all the time".

Venniker now has a record of five rides on the gelding for four wins and a second and hopefully she can improve that record even further in this MR 72 Handicap over 1400m.

One a tricky card All The Time stands out as the best bet of the day and should he win, he will extend the tally of unbeaten best bets in this column to six.

It all started with Play With Fire (33-20) at Greyville last Wednesday, followed by Greaterix (15-10) at Turffontein on Thursday, Golden Rule (13-20) and Fairview on Friday, and Mighty Mac (33-20) and Quick Trip (13-20) and Kenilworth and Turffontein respectively on Saturday.
