Vaal Meeting for Thursday, 12 October 2023 Abandoned
Johannesburg, 12 October 2023

5mm of rain fell at the Vaal on Thursday, 12 October 2023. After the running of race 1,
concerns were raised about the safety of the racing surface.

A track inspection was held and although a consensus could not be reached among the
inspection committee, the jockeys were unanimous in their opinion that the surface was
not suitable for racing.

A decision was therefore made to abandon the remainder of the card.
